Hello Readers,
I hope everyone enjoyed their Spring Semester as was able to end strong and well! Regional Conference was an amazing treat and just looking back at pictures and thinking of chants brightens my day! Congratulations to all the graduating seniors! And be sure to keep in touch with BACCHUS by becoming a part of the Alumni program! The next Area 12 Newsletter will come out in early September,
so when that time comes around keep an eye open for me! And
remember, if ever you have any comments, questions or concerns
please e-mail me at area12sac@bacchusgamma.org, I'd love to hear from
you! Also, advisors please pass along this newsletter to
your students so they can get a glimpse for themselves of what's
going on with BACCHUS! Encourage them to join the mailing list! And
if you'd be interested in writing something for this newsletter,
just let me know!

Area 12 Regional Conference... It's a Shore Thing Mark Freeman Student Advisory Committee
Another Spring has come and gone, and so has another Area 12 Regional Conference. I've had pleasure of attending the past three Regional Conferences in Area 12, and each one continues to surprise and amazing me, while leaving me with great memories and new things learned.
From screaming chants at the top of our lungs, to singing karaoke in the middle of the night, attending educational workshops and programs, to networking with each other all weekend, there was definitely a lot of fun to be had at this years conference!

As for some of the Karaoke that was done? Just check our the Area12BACCHUS YouTube Page for some of the songs that were captured on video!
We also gave out Awards for Outstanding work done by affiliates. At our awards ceremony we gave out the following awards:

Welcome to BACCHUS
Spring 2009! In honor of this New Year, we wanted to remind you of the importance of
the quarterly newsletters you will be receiving from your newly elected Student
Advisory Committee representatives. These newsletters will be your pass to free
and easy information regarding current BACCHUS news on both the national and
local area levels. The newsletter will: Contain upcoming
BACCHUS events and important deadlines
- Create effective
networking and communication within the area
- Inform affiliates
about those who serve BACCHUS
- Include
submitted articles from affiliates regarding relevant topics, great program
summaries, and outstanding student and advisor highlights

We wanted to
send a special congratulations to the graduating seniors. Now is the ideal
time to reflect on your experiences as a Peer Educator: What have you
accomplished? What skills have you developed? It is beneficial to discuss
these questions with your fellow peer educators who may bring a
different perspective and help you to embrace your personal strengths. This
knowledge will help you when applying or interviewing for your next stage in
life.
Thank you
for all of your hard work and contributions to the BACCHUS Network and Peer
Education. You have given so much through your involvement and we would like
you to know that BACCHUS would like to give back! BACCHUS Network offers an

The Peer Educator

With
a current circulation of more than 2,000, The Peer Educator™ is a
bimonthly publication of The BACCUHS Network™ and serves as the
organization's calling card. Bimonthly, the BACCHUS staff produces each
issue with articles relevant to student health-related issues, ranging
from alcohol abuse prevention to mental health to physical fitness and
nutrition to pertinent issues in peer education, student development
and advising.
It is the goal of each issue to report on current
issues in the student health field as well as to bring issues not being
discussed to the forefront. In addition, BACCHUS highlights students,
advisors, and campus programming and projects throughout the year to
the Network.
The Peer Educator™ provides Network affiliates with
valuable and useable resources and ideas. Current and past issues can
be accessed online, at no charge.

BACCHUS has gotten a jump start on the Fall! Registration and information for General Assembly is already available! General Assembly will be held November 5-8th in Orlando, Florida, so mark your calendars!! Information can be made available by clicking here.
