| General Assembly:
Deadlines Extended & Quickly Approaching! Mark Freeman
Student Advisory Committee
General assembly is only three weeks away! And deadlines are quickly approaching!
Early registration and the hotel room block have been extended to Monday, October 19, at 7 pm EST. However, the room block is filling fast, so book today!
And you can still apply for awards, and be a part of the BAC Tail contest and the School Exhibit. But hurry, deadlines are coming up fast!!!
Registration
Due: Monday, October 19 Click Here!Yes, prices aren't the cheapest in the world. But considering that registration covers your meals for your conference, it helps pays for all the rooms and space that's used for the conference (and there's a lot!), and there aren't any extra charges in there, it's actually a steal! Hotels
Due: Monday, October 19 Click Here! You can get a discounted room in the hotel we'll be doing all of our sessions for the conference. The cool thing? You can book three days before the conference begins, and three days after the conference is over and keep the same discounted room rate! Why not see Orlando while you're already there!?
Award Submission
Sometimes, it's hard to talk about yourself and all the great things your group does, but this is your time to shine! You can submit awards for an outstanding program you put on, your network as a whole, and the amazing job you've done, or you can recognize the fabulous job a student your advisor or an alumni has made.
I would strongly suggest writing an award for your advisor, after all, many of us wouldn't be here reading this if it wasn't for them!
All the categories you can submit an award nomination for are:
- Outstanding Prevention Program in
- Alcohol Abuse/Impaired Driving
- Tobacco
- Mental Health
- Sexual Health
- Personal Safety
- Fitness and Nutrition
- Illegal Drug/Drug Misuse
- Peer Ed. Recruitment Campaign
- Creative Publicity for an Event
- Successful Fundraiser
- Outstanding Network Affiliate
- Outstanding Student Leader
- Outstanding Advisor
- Outstanding Alumni
*NOTE: You do NOT have to be present at General Assembly to win an award! Last year Area 12 did very in applying for awards, and we were recognized by having a very large number of the awards given out at General Assembly! Let's keep that streak going!
BAC-Tail ContestDue: Starts Wednesday, October 21Click Here!Do you make BAC-Tails or serve some other variation of a non-alcoholic cocktail on your campus?
